About PORA

What is PORA?

PORA is an acronym for Property Owners Residents Association — one of the leading support organizations for Sun City West residents. We are NOT a regulatory or enforcement agency. We advocate local issues to state government, educate through custom classes, and support the community by providing information, services, and assistance.

What PORA Does

  • Advocacy — presenting local issues to state government and serving as the voice of impact
  • Education — custom classes through the PORA Education Program
  • Community Support — information, services, and assistance for residents

Sun City West is an unincorporated community in Arizona's West Valley. PORA is the quasi-governmental entity that advocates and intervenes on behalf of the community, fostering good relationships with local, state, and federal governments. The Recreation Centers and PORA are separate organizations: PORA's main function is advocacy, while the Recreation Centers concentrate on events and social functions.
